Best way to gain weight fast for football?

I am in 13 year old in 8th grade and will be going to a high school next year that is known for having a powerhouse football program that wins a lot, despite being a school in the North. I convinced my parents to let me try out for the Freshmen team, but I have a problem. My parents never let me play Pop Warner for whatever reason, and so I have little experience. Several years ago I played flag football and I often play catch and throw at targets. My problem is camp starts in a little bit about 110 days, and I am light for my age and need to put on weight. Based on my skills I will probably play QB or WR on offense, and linebacker or safety on defense. However, I really need to know how to put on weight fast. I feel like adding 20 pounds would be good. I recently started lifting weights and running a lot so I have room to gain weight from muscle. What would be a good amount of time to workout daily and a good amount to eat to put on 20 pounds in 110 days?

The safest way to gain weight is to increase weight gradually, by monitoring the calorie intake and calories burnt during daily activities.By eating French fries and other oily food, you may increase your weight but you will also have other health problems like extra cholesterol. You can find a lot of information at http://www.toloseweight.org/gainweight.h...

You are a young person and I am an old person. I wish you good luck, but I want to caution you to just eat lots of good quality food. No junk food or sweets, or pops. Actually all the lifting and running should increase your appetite. Some people say just the opposite, but 65 years says different for me. There are good quality supplements in the health food stores that might help. Be careful there too. Get an older person to help you do research, someone you trust.

The Southeastern Conference has the most incompetent football officials in AMerica?

The Southeastern will not have a team in the final top ten football programs for no other reason than the low quality of its officiating? Does anyone know of a conference with worse officials?

hell i don't know... i just know i hate officials when they are routinely making judgment calls against my team that i find to be nitpicking, while i feel they are letting the enemy get away with equally blatant fouls...

Refs seem to be incompetent no matter where they are. Every week there is at least one team that you could say got robbed of something thanks to the refs. And usually there are more than one.

Boise State actually has a better winning percentage (.693%) than Penn State, but because they've only played 459 games and have only 317 wins in Division 1-A football, I do not consider them having great tradition at this time.

Why can't americans accept that Football is a game played by the rest of the world?

Football was invented and played before "American football" existed. It involves the foot coming into contact with the ball as opposed to picking it up and carrying it. It is called football by the rest of the world, not soccer. Surely your game should be renamed handball as that is a more acurate decription.

Why can't americans accept that Football is a game played by the rest of the world?nba mock draft

Yes but Soccer was in fact invented as a name in the UK even though we call the game football.

The English still called it a game of "football" because the ball was played primarily with the feet but in the late 18th Century, the word, "soccer", was first used by a student of Oxford University by the name of Charles Wreford Brown. The students at Oxford were known for using slang where they added "er" to the end of words that they intentionally shortened. The game of Rugby was called "rugger". Brown shortened the word "association" and added "er" and the term "soccer" was born.

Why can't americans accept that Football is a game played by the rest of the world?nba scores ,nba teams

I am American and I totally agree with you. I can't stand American sports fanatics and it makes me want to cry that there is no place for me to go and watch a good match. I am trying very hard to make sure I use the words right so at least know that there is someone over here trying.
Their world super bowl tornament is only played in america, so it isen't the 'world'.
Football is the greatest sport on earth. I will never conform by calling it 'soccer' or the ball as a 'soccerball'
Because American can be pretty lame sometimes. I hated my co-workers this summer who didn't understand how into the World Cup I was. I love football and American football.
Fortunately, I am one of those americans who have accepted it. I love FOOTBALL!

GO LFC!
because americans are dumb@rses and they can't accept that England is better in every good way to america (every good way anyway)

same as the american billion is bigger than the British billion
It's because as with any custom and culture, Americans have their own way of doing things. Football in the rest of the world is known as soccer and not played the same way as it's USA and Canada cousins, so perhaps Football in U.S.A. was adopted as a name because it's a game that is played differently that most of the world plays it.. It's quite dull actually and no where near as interesing as Rugby or Soccer in my opinion. In addition most of the world uses the metric system for measurements and weight and the U.S.A. uses inches, yards and pounds to weigh and measure things; whatever the hell it's called.
SOCCER is a mane invented by the Americans. They play a game they call FOOTBALL which is actually a HANDBALL game !!! Its an Americanised name to detach their woofy game from the REAL game of Football. I dont know and European Football club that has Soccer in its name ? .... do you ? Mam U Soccer CLUB ?........ Celtic Soccer Club ? ...... Cfuking Yanks !!!!!!1 P.S the Irish call it soccer too because they have Gealic Football which is played by HAND too ?
Well, "WHAT IS IN A NAME AFTER ALL A ROSE IS A ROSE".
because american are iggnornate arrrogant and think there the best, wait a min is that americans of thierry henry, any way footballs, football and american footballs rugby with pads, what a bunch of pansys, *******.
Let's make a deal: People in the USA get to decide what to call it in the USA.
Don't know much about American Football do you? See punters %26amp; kickers for further information :-)
(tut) bloody yanks!! we should send some of our rugby players over and show 'em how its done. the big softeys! they might have more weapons than us but they've got no balls!
As most Americans think the 'rest of the world' is Mexico and Canada then there aint much hope. After all, look at all the nations who compete in the 'World' series of baseball. Hardly a global sporting phenomenon but they seem to portray it that way anyway, with the winning team deemed to be world champions.
And we park on driveways and drive on parkways.
i say your helmet is on to tight.
100% agree with you.
Because the Americans don't know what " The Rest of the World" means

Who is the best coach in college football this year?

Just taking a survey of sorts...who do you think is the bestcollegefootball coach and why?

Who is the best coach incollegefootball this year?tv on pc

'67 Shelby GT,

I would have to answer this two ways.

First - subjectively speaking - I am a Trojan and Pete Carroll has done wonders for that USC program in downtown L.A. I doubt another University will be able to accomplish what he has done for an extended period of time as Pete has done. This season is not yet over; however, I can only speculate that when it is all said and done that we will at least be in the Top 10 even with the current 2 games we have lost this season.

Second - objectively speaking? I would have to put Coach Tressell as the number one Coach for this year, then give #2 to Les Miles of LSU, and #3 would go to Mike Bellotti of Oregon (yes OR).

Have a good day!

Gerry :)

Who is the best coach incollegefootball this year?golf ,nba teams

Les Miles (and not just because im a LSU fan) look at this guy. He has guts and he runs a powerhouse of a team.

I also find it interesting that no one has mentioned Nick Saban.. Yes, i hate that he left LSU and we will always hold that against him, but the man is a great coach!
Joe Glenn/ University Of Wyoming Cowboys. Our defense right now is so in to the game. We have only lost 2 games this year compared to last year.... GO COWBOYS
Mangino is good, but he hasnt played ANYBODY. Vanderbilt or Iowa could be 9-0 right now with that schedule. Seriously, give the guy some credit once he does something good.

Im going to have to go with either my boy Jim Tressel or LSU's Les Miles, because theyre both in similar situations. Miles lost his star QB JaMarcus Russell, his two top wideouts Dwayne Bowe and Craig Davis, and his top safety LaRon Landry and still has a team poised to go to the National Championship. Tressell lost his Heisman winning QB Troy Smith, three great wideouts in Ted Ginn, Anthony Gonzalez and Roy Hall, his running back Antonio Pittman, his all confrence center Doug Datish, and all confrence DT Quinn Pitcock. What do each of these men do? They simply replace them and go about business as usual. No Troy Smith? Dont worry, Todd Boeckman is beginning to look more and more like the next Tom Brady every game. No Ginn/Gonzo/Pittman? Brian Robiske and Brian Hartline have filled the shoes nicely and sophomore tailback Chris Wells is seemingly unstoppable. You lose JaMarcus Russell, #1 overall pick, and bring in Matt Flynn and Ryan Perriloux, the QB duo that has more than worked out. You lose Bowe/Davis? Early Doucet has emerged as possibly the nation's top wideout.

And, I hope its not too soon to speak, but this years LSU squad is looking an awful lot like last year's National Champion Gators team, with all the speed, the 2 QB system and the great D. Both LSU and Ohio State have the marks of great teams, but my edge goes to Les Miles and the Bayou Bengals, who have played one of the toughest schedules in the land and executed to perfection some of the most gutsy calls Ive ever seen. Coach of the year, Les Miles, Mr. 4th down himself.
I think Jim Tressell.
Mark Mangino of Kansas should be a shoe-in for coach of the year.
The worst coach is Bill Callahan.
Mark Mangino of Kansas has my vote as he has taken a program that hardly ever wins in football to an undefeated season so far and a national ranking of 4th.
Les Miles or Jim Tressel, take your pick. I'm an LSU fan, but I'm an honest one. I think Jim has done a great job with Ohio St considering they don't have a great offense. I like Les Miles for the fake FG call he made against S. Carolina. I think you could choose either of these. I would also like to throw in Mark Mangino of Kansas as he has done an outstounding job.
The Kanas coach everyone forget's he took the OU team who was nothing and took them to a BCS Title shot. In just one year. With the very same offence he is running now at Kanas.
Jim Tressel. It was to be a rebuilding year for OSU, instead they simply reloaded, and now the Buckeyes are ranked and playing like the #1 team that they are. Great recruiter, great motivator, great coach.
I'm always gonna stick to my guns and say Urban Meyer (hey, I'm a gator) ... but here's my unbiased opinion:

Les Miles (look at his team - they are a powerhouse. their D is frightening) or Jim Tressel (a class act coach who knows his stuff, is the epitome of professionalism, and is guaranteed to lead the BCS and their conference)
Joe Gibbs, of the Washington REDSKINS!!!!
coach at kansas, mark mangino. to go from 6-6 overall (3-5) in the conference, to where they are now is a huge step forward, especially for a program that has never been a football powerhouse. if kansas can get by missouri in their last regular season game, look for them in the bcs championship.
'The Fighting Manginos'!
Mangino, from Kansas.

Here's why......

He took a NOTHING program and made it a success. He has both his offense and defense in the top numbers. Who the heck else has EVER put up 76 points against Nebraska...EVER?????

I don't like the Jayhawks, not even in B Ball, I'm a Kansas State fan (don't laugh please) and so they are my bitter rivals, but I have to give the fat bastard credit, he's done a great job with his football team.
Mark mangino, definitely. NOT the weasel in the red vest who coaches that team south of the border
Mack Brown of Texas. He keeps them positive and motivated, even when they are down. It showed against OK St.
Totally biased opinion here.....Jim Tressel....

He has an overall record of 72-14, including a 4-2 bowl record and a 5-1 record against that team UP North..
Jim Tressell....the stats speak for themselves.

Why do Americans call the real football soccer?

Americans have ripped off every game there is, your baseball is actually a corrupt form of cricket, rugby is another corrupt form called 'football' Maybe the Americans should be thought the actual semantics of English. It will make a refreshing change from what they are trying to 'correct' the rest of the world on pronounciation of the English language.

Bear in mind that it wasn't the immigrants who created English!

Why do Americans call the real football soccer?nba store

The word soccer is a colloquial abbreviation of association (from assoc.) and first appeared in the 1880s.

In the late 19th century the word soccer tended to be used only at independent (public) schools; most people knew the game simply as football. Today the term association football is rarely used, although some clubs still include Association Football Club (AFC) in their name.

"Soccer" is used by the largest number of native English speakers, mainly because of its overwhelmingly predominant use in the United States. However, "football" is perhaps used in more countries and by more non-native speakers. The game is sometimes also known colloquially as footy and footer in various places.

Why do Americans call the real football soccer?nba salary ,nba teams

I know I have seen this question before. My question to you is why do you waste your time and energy worrying about it??? do you have absolutely nothing better to do with you time??? I personally can't stand what you call 'real football' (aka soccer), but definitely love my American football! I could also care less what originated where. In the grand scheme of things does that really matter???

And by the way...to first answerer...football games begin with a kickoff which entails what? The foot making contact with the damn ball before anything or anyone else does!
I absolutely agree with you and I asked this question to every Americans I've ever met... They have no rights to call it "football", because the only time the ball touched their foot is when they punt, and that's like, what, only 5% of the whole game? They should call it American Rugby, or handball!

An another thing that annoys me is the fact that they classify "soccer" as a little girl's game! Bloody idiots!

BTW, Liverpool Rules!!!
Short answer: By the time what you call football gained any popularity in the US, the term "football" had already been applied to another, more popular (in the US) sport. Thus, what you call football had to be called something else. I do not know the derivation of the word "soccer".

I don't believe anyone is trying to "correct" the rest of the world. Call it football all you want, but be advised that, should you visit the US, you'll be referring to an entirely different game.
Oh right....next thing you're going to tell me is that we didn't invent Golf.....

Congrats....Euros invented soccer/football/rugby... what's the big deal? Do you want a pat on the back?? Alright....pat, pat pat....way to go, you're the best!

As far as the semantics of English.....maybe you should focus on some of the grammar/spelling in your question. Loser.
They can call it Cat gut volley for all I care.. what difference does it make.. if you are not a fan of the sport then don't watch.. if you perfer football/soccer.. the more power to you..

Actually.. football/soccer has a wide fan base in the US.. no it is not as huge as it is in many other countries, but it is growing.. and that has alot to do with the influences from other cultures here.... So aren't we in fact being changed by others and not the other way around as you state.
Cause we're weird
The English stole R%26amp;B music from America. We all trade cultural things.
You say that their 'football' is a corrupt version of Rugby, but Rugby itself is a corrupt version of English Football and it's proper title is Rugby Football. So if American Football is a corrupt Rugby Football, why can't they call it Football?!

Also it's not just Americans that call it soccer, it's an accepted term for Football, just like 'Rugger' is for Rugby.

At the end of the day, it's not important so why worry?!
'Soccer' is British slang anyway, and emerged in the 19th century in England.

It's a shortening of 'association football' just as 'rugger' is slang for rugby football.

You've got your 'facts' all wrong here. For someone who is trying to defend English culture, you don't actually know that much about English history! Sorry.
B'cauz we is better

an' better lookin' too!

Youz just jealous b'cauz we done took yer women in WWII then left 'em there when we found they had bad teeth an' could not cook.
why do the English call the hood of their cars a bonnet?

a bonnet for god's sakes.
coz .............
Because poor things they don't know any better...............

They are too busy with too many other priorities.........like controlling other countries................
You mean people in the U.S. They are so ignorant!!
cause they stuped!
I don't know why America football is called football, nor do I care. However your contention about the origins of soccer are incorrect it was not an english invention. Similar games have been played throughout history all over the world, with the earliest recorded form of the game dating back to 1500 BC and the Mesoamerican Olmecs. No matter, your indictment of Americans based on their games shows an underlying dislike of American culture, and Americans in general. So, since you want to talk about semantics, why don't just call a spade a spade and say I don't like Americans.
we do not call it soccer do you know what (emo) is then you know what a plces call afriac is dunm *** they call football soccer
if you really look up the history of the game when they started playing Football (soccer) in the U.S they also where playing Rugby in some of the Colleges and it didn't work out so year by year football (soccer) and Rugby kind of got put in to one game which throwout the years turn to American football. i don't remember the guys name that called it soccer but this is all true. football (soccer) and Rugby were being played in the U.S way before American football was invented and it comes from both games.

What are the 5 best football states in America?

Im talking which states are the most football loving states. States that have NFL teams, College teams, and strong High School teams that are all not only good, but legendary and well known. Give reasons why you think these are the best states to represent football.

1. Texas- High School Football almost as popular as NFL andcollegeand some small towns take it as seriously as religion. UT Longhorns, 2005-06 National Champs, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans. Texas AM university.

2. Florida- Gators, Florida State Seminoles, Miami Hurricanes. Also have 3 NFL teams, and great High School programs, or so Ive heard from this kid who moved to my school from Fla.

3. Ohio- 2 NFL teams, Ohio State University. Home of NFL Hall Of Fame.

4. California- 3 NFL teams, USC, Cal Golden Bears, UCLA. You get the picture.

5. Cant think of a fifth. Sorry.

1) Texas. high School football is #1....too bad their academics (even after the "edycashun" guvnor Bush) are #47

2) Pennsylvania -- look at all of the pros to have come from the hardscrabble towns there...QBs plus LB University!

3) Hard to argue with Ohio--high school andcollege(so what if their pro teams suck?)

4) Much as I hate cheaters (esp. Miami--Jerry Tarkanian should've coached basketball there, too!), Florida would be hard to argue with...

5) Wisconsin. Great kids in the HS and collegiate levels (check out the D-III Whitewaters and LaCrosse's for example) plus the Badgers are always underrated.

What are the 5 best football states in America?nba playoffs ,nba teams

1. Texas

2. Florida

3. California

4. Louisiana

5. Georgia
California - College football POWERHOUSES, Great NFL teams, former legends. High school All Americans

Florida - The cheapskate champs, Florida, who didn't deserve to be there, sept they won championships before that that they deserved, FSU, UM, Great pro ball. High School All Americans

Texas - College "powerhouses", highly over rated though. Cowboys are also over rated. High School football is a way of life.

Ohio - Have the HOF, also have the Bengals and not to mention the Buckeyes.

Louisiana - Great football colleges, The Saints are finally making a true return, high school football is amazing.

Other states - high school football is everywhere, love it. Love the lights on Friday night, which is why i play.
I agree with the 4 states you have there. The 5th one you should add is Pennsylvania. They have 2 NFL teams, Pitt, Penn State, one of the best State High School playoffs in the country, and many HOFers are from Pennsylvania. Mike Ditka, George Blanda, Tony Dorsett, Joe Montana, Joe Namath, Jack Ham, Johnny Unitas, Lenny Moore, Sam Huff, and Joe Schmidt.
youve forgotten one of if not the best state...alabama...although i cant stand the crimson tide but there numbers dont lye.and my auburn tigers are one of the top 5 winningcollegeprograms in the last 5 years.john heisman coached at auburn, vince dooley played there.troy dominated div.2 and has already made 2 bowl games, uab has made a bowl.highschool football is loved here just look at mtv and the hoover high team.and every saturday is special during the fall when 180,000 folks are at jordan-hare and bryant-denny stadiums and the other 6 million alabamians are sure to be watching on tv. they did a study and there is no room for a nfl team ascollegeand highschool dominate this state and that is real football ,no pre-madonnas
ok some of you idiots listed the top NCAA teams!!!

The question this person is trying to ask is which city bleeds football!!!

in this order

#1 TEXAS

#2 OKLAHOMA

#3 ALABAMA

#4 NEBRASKA

#5 FLORIDA
1. Texas- it's kinda obvious isn't it?

2. Ohio- 2 NFL teams, Ohio state (who was robbed of a chapionship), NFL hall of fame, come on!

3.Flordia- Gators won a championship, Miami is historically good, not bad high school progarams, held super bowl XLI

4. New York- Ok colleges, 2 NFL teams who BOTH made the playoffs, idk bout high school

5. Illinois- NFC champion da BEARS, Arena bowl champions the rush, Illini ALMOST beat ohio state, high schools couldn't tell yah

maybe Calafornia instead of New York idk too close
1. Texas- high school, college, and pro football have huge followings in Texas. They are undoubtedly the top state.

2. California- the high school market isn't as big as Texas but some of the nations top recruits (Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, Jimmy Clausen) come out of Cali. College football is huge with USC, UCLA, and Cal (distant third). Pro football is not as big but the market is still booming. Oakland, San Diego and San Fransico keep things interesting. The divisional rivalry between OAK and SD and the battle of the bay between OAK and SF keep the Cali fires burning.

3. Ohio- the one thing that spells out football in Ohio is the Ohio State University. Woody Hayes is the man responsible for making football popular in Ohio. The NFL does help out a little with CLE and CIN but they are not as big as the Buckeyes.

4. Florida- They make the list because they have a lot ofcollegeand pro teams in state. The high school market is expanding every year but a lot of athletes come to Florida for variety. In college, you can choose between UF, FSU, Miami, UCF, USF, FIU, FAU, etc. The NFL gives you the Dolphins, the Jaguars, and the Bucs. Okay, so the NFL teams haven't lived up to expectations but they try....

5. I really can't decide between Pennsylvania and Georgia. Both states have huge football followings at all levels. In the final analysis, I would have to pick Georgia. The HS programs are very competitive. The NCAA teams (UGA and GT) seem to compete in major bowls every year. The ATL Falcons have garnered a lot of national attention in the past few years with the play of Michael Vick. Like I said, it's close but Georgia wins the day at number five...
texas

california

florida

alabama (no nfl teams, but they love their football)

ohio (birth place of football)
ohio for sure

texas for sure

florida

oklahoma

california
1. Ohio

2. Michigan

3. California

4. Pennsylvania

5.Texas
1. I agree with Texas, high School football is everything there

2. Massachusetts: Patriots have the most expensive seats in the league and still sell out every game, and BC games r always packed too

3. California- Just because the Raider fans even wear all that metal gear at the pro bowl after a dreadful year

4. Pennsylvania- Steelers fans among the most loyal, though among the harshest, also have the Eagles, just as loyal but just as harsh

5. California- so many teams!
1. Ohio

Buckeyes (sorry blue)

2. Massachusettes

Patriots

3. Florida

gators and hurricanes

4. California

USC

5. Michigan

Michigan, Grand Valley State
Texas

Alabama

California

Ohio

Pennsylvania
oklahoma !

THE SOONERS !
1. California- THey have USC and many other great collage teams, as well as 3 nfl teams. They used to have four back when there was the los angelas rams.

2. Texas- football is a way of life there

3. Ohio- 2 nfl teams, NFL hall of fame, and Ohio State is a great collage team

4. Florida- 3 collage teams, and 3 NFL teams. There high school programs are great, enough said

5. I would go with Massachusetts but no one has said Pensylvainia yet, so i'll go with them. They have 2 NFL teams, and some decent collage teams, they also have the craisest fans with the Eagle's, and some other crazy fans with the steelers.

Honorable mention goes to Massachussetts and New York
1. Texas

2. Alabama

3. Oklahoma

4. Indiana

5. Nebraska
1. Notre Dame
I agree with your ranking. In fifth place I would say either Wisconsin (they are fanatic about the Packers) or Pennsylvania (Steelers and Eagles).
i'm putting the only one i care about , pa , philly pa ,true eagles right here ,everybody knows u can't **** wit a philly fan

FLY EAGLES FLY
Your top 4 is correct. Maybe a different order. I would place Pennsylvania as #5. Plenty of legendary quarterbacks have come from that region, Penn State and Pitt have both won National Championships, Steelers have 5 Super Bowl trophies.
these 5 are diehard football fans. i know from experience. its not about how many teams there are, because that is determined by population. my list is not in order of most diehard fans, but they show the most support to their football teams.

1. wisconsin

2. texas

3. ohio

4. pennsylvania

5. colorado
Your top four clearly belong, but I would rate them, Florida - Texas - Ohio - Cali and then New Jersey.

Paterno - back in the day when PSU was an Indie - nearly had the state almost to himself (ND would also drop in, but that program could go anywhere for players) for blue-chippers. Cooper at OSU made great strides by recruiting Eddie George and Stanley Jackson, among others, out of the state.

And - mark my words - Rutgers is going to be able to keep a lot of the top prospects home and will build a yearly powerhouse from the high schools throughout the state.

Professionally, until a NYC stadium is built, the Meadowlands is home to the Jets and Giants.
1.Texas

2.Florida

3.California

4.Ohio

5.Alabama
OK, TEXAS, IS THE #1 Football motivated state.

1st you have the Longhorns, Texas A%26amp;M Aggies, and Texas Tech Red Raiders.

2nd you got the football towns like Midland, Odessa and such.

3rd and most important, about 95% or more of all Football movies are inspired by true stories in Texas.
1. Ohio

2. Texas

3. Pennsylvania

4. California

5. Florida
1.Texas

2.California

3.Alabama

5-New York- 2 NFL teams, center of Media

4-Ohio-2 NFL teams, Hall Of Fame, OSU

3-Florida- 3 NFL teams, Gators, Hurricanes

2-California-3 NFL teams UCLA, USC, Rose bowl

1-Texas- 2 NFL teams, Texas A+M, UT, Friday Night Lights
New England, Colorado,Washington, Florida, Wisconsin
4, 1, 2, Michigan and New York
I am going in terms of best players by state.

1.) Texas- It is purely religous. Perhaps no area in the world is more totally captivated by one sport

2.) Georgia- I know they will not get much love, but I am sure if you go down the list of states w/h most NFL players, you do not go far til you get to Georgia

3.) Florida- Would put them two, put their fan passion does not stack up.

4.) Alabama- Iron Bowl? In addition to this war (I am sure during the frustrating Bear Bryant era a few Tide fans were killed in frustration in Auburn) there are also a great deal of successful programs.

5.) I dunno... Prolly California. Just cause Ohio has the nFL hall of fame does not make them a football state. Their team's are mostly imports. California has a few pretty good rivalries and some decent high schools (plus a really good one).

Why do football coaches wear those things on their head, the earphones and mic, what is that for?

Is there a reason or what are they used for, do the football players have speakers in their helmets.

Why do football coaches wear those things on their head, the earphones and mic, what is that for?nba store

So they can communicate with the people at the skybox (Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, etc.) Also most Quaterbacks have it in their helmets where they can communicate about the play they're about to run.

Why do football coaches wear those things on their head, the earphones and mic, what is that for?nba salary ,nba teams

That is so they can talk to the coaches that are up in the booth. Some Offensive Coordinators sit up there to see the other teams defensive formations, vice versa for Defensive Coordinators.
They talk to the QB's and other coaches on the sideline and up in the booth
they wear them so they can talk with the people in the booth and ask for assisstance if needed
communication.....duh
so they can talk to the personal up stairs. usually offense and defensive coordinators. some QB's have them in there helmets.
They use it to communicate with other coaches or staff members that are in the booth or on the sidelines. Usually an offense and/or defensive coordinator are up in the booth to get a better view of the field.

Are there any Vegetarian football players or bodybuilders?

I keep hearing about how Vegetarians get enough protein but I have yet to see a single GOOD vegetarian football player or body builder.

Do you know any professionals or ones in your highschool?

Not trying to make fun of vegetarians but then again I never seen a muscular vegetarian (not skinny muscular but wrestler muscular) unless they were beefy before they became vegetarian.

Their are a few, mostly has beens. Nowhere near the percentage of the non veggies.

Are there any Vegetarian football players or bodybuilders?nba playoff schedule ,nba teams

Here's a list:

http://www.veganathlete.com/vegan_vegeta...

And I believe I read elsewhere that Marv Levy, longtime coach of the Buffalo Bills, is a vegetarian.
Bodybuilders: Andreas Cahling. Bodybuilders always freak me out, though, by how they look!

The only vegetarian football player that I know of is Desmond Howard. And there's also Tony Gonzalez, but he switched only recently and then switched back after a few weeks.

There's a list of pro athletes here:

http://www.ivu.org/people/sports/index.h...

And remember that there's more to life and health than protein, and more to athleticism than just pure strength or bulk. In addition, compare the life expectancies of vegans, vegetarians, and non-vegetarians... time is the ultimate test of health.

Good luck to you and that's cool that you asked!
Joe Namath and Ricky Williams are two vegetarian football players.

Bill Pearl and Steve Holt are two vegetarian bodybuilders.

btw, if you wanna get beefy as a vegetarian you'll need to consume more calories and fat, which vegetarian diets typically are not high in.
There was a Mr. Universe back in the 60's that was vegetarian. I can't recall his name....

I just remembered. Its Bill Pearl. He was Mr. Universe in 1971. Google his name and a bunch of links should come up.
i dont realy know sorry
lol

jessica, nice pics, Those guys are a little nasty, I am suprised that there are vegan bodybuilders and football players, I thought that we are brighter then that lol
There are quite a few Olympic medal winners, multiple Mr. Universe winners, and other athletes that are vegetarian or vegan. Meat and dairy products can often hinder sports performance and lead to health problems that eventually take athletes out of the game. I know the book "Skinny B*tch" names a bunch of Olympic athletes and Mr. Universe winners that were on veg diets - proof positive that it can be done!
Yes.

I find it strange you think it's impossible to get beefy after going veg, yet you can sustain it on a veg diet.

http://www.veganbodybuilding.com/?page=g...

http://www.trulyhuge.com/news/tips63iu.h...

eta: that's what i'm saying. I find it weird you think someone can't GET beefy on a veg diet, yet if they were before, a vegetarian diet can sustain it. That makes no sense.

I want everyone with an opinion to answer this question concerning pro football?

My question is this: Shouldn't pro football change the rule regarding downing a football near the endzone?

I mean, if the ball has to cross the imaginary line of the goal for a touchdown, shouldn't the BALL have to do the same when players try to down the ball. In college, a player can down the football inside the one, even if his body ends up in the endzone, as long as the ball never entered the endzone.....

YES (change the rule) or NO ( leave it as it now is)

or if you must, elaborate

No ..leave it as it is.

In the NFL the ball must touch the ground in the endzone for a touchback. Thecollegemust just cross the goal line to be a touchback. It would just add more questionable judgement calls and replays.

How can I build my body into the body of a football player?

Any football players out there, give me advice.

How can I build my body into the body of a football player?nfl

Get yourself into a weightroom, and work as hard as you can. Once you get stronger, then you can work on your speed and agility with ladders and plyos and so on. Also practice your position every other day or something, if you get the technique down, your set.

How can I build my body into the body of a football player?nba power rankings ,nba teams

if you are young you can build your body into football shape by playing football and running but if you are in high school or older it is harder because your body will not be use to it.
work everypart of your body.. focusing mainly on exercises to work your entire body.. i.e power cleans, hang cleans, squats, deadlifts, bench press, military press, bent over rows. Also do bridges for your neck, since i put a couple inches on my neck im starting to look like a real (pro) football player.. But i got a few more years to build up too that level.
Watch one of their training films and do what they do every morning afternoon and evening for the rest of your life.
Steriods.... haha just kidding, lifting weights and focusing on all parts of the body, do less weight more repititions
Well first you need tyo get a weight lifting program. Start with basics like bench and squat. Then do other workouts like hang cleans and push press. These workout techniques can be found on many websites or you can ask your coaches to teach you. Workouts like hang cleans and push press are probably the best since they are whole body workouts and create explosiveness. You will also have to run many sprints. Run 40, 60, and 100 yard sprints. If you are a lineman try 5 and 20 sprints for explosiveness. Football requires you to be strong and conditioned, but in many positions exposiveness is key
Either just get grossly fat like some of those american footballers that are just out there to use there fatness to stop people, or buy some of that pathetic looking padding that the Americans have to use so they don't hurt them selves!

(oh yeah and those tight pants look gross too)

How weak are you American men that you need six inches of padding to tackle somebody!

Come over to Australia and watch REAL men tackle in the AFL or the Rugby League/Union.

Such Wooses!!!
Depends on what position but if you want to have a RB or WR body then your gonna have to eat and eat but eat healthy and lift heavy heavy weight. Cardio 2 to 3 times a week and in about a year or year and a half you will see big results. But you can't slack off you gotta work out hard 2 to 3 hours a day.

Parking shouldn't be too hard because those are metered so you can park your cars there. Enjoy the food and the game.

Does Appalachian State's win over Michigan make a case for a college football playoff system?

This proves that some of the best lower tier teams can compete witht the "big boys" of Div-I football. I personally like the bowl scheduling because more teams have something to play for but this further argues the case for a playoff format to be constructed. Should a playoff system include Div-IAA schools or should it be striclty Div-1A?

All thoughts appreciated.

Does Appalachian State's win over Michigan make a case for acollegefootball playoff system?fan gear

The year when Marshall went to Div. I. They were a top 20 team. They won the I-AA title the year before. Appalachian State has won the I-AA the last 2 years and ranked #1 so far this year. The difference isn't as big as ppl think. If ASU were Div 1 they would probably be a top 25 team. The NCAA should go to a single division playoff. Top 20 from D1 and top 12 of D1-AA. That would be 31 games. Split up between the different bowls.

Does Appalachian State's win over Michigan make a case for acollegefootball playoff system?nba draft ,nba teams

its no longer called the D1-AA. it is now called the Football Championship Subdivison. they felt like changing the name for some reason beyond me. either way. agreeing they need a playoff. disagreeing that any "subdivision/D1-AA" schools be involved. it should be likecollegebasketball only smaller Report It

this most definately makes for a strong case.

you gotta love seeing the little guy win.

I dont get why there isnt one. I mean if they are worried about loosing the money for the sponsors and stuff then they just need to do what the NCAA men's basketball does in the bracket and name each game after a bowl game. I mean come on already.

Plus how AWESOME would it be to have a month of solidcollegefootball just like that.

There are some concerns though. Injury, team preparedness, scouting. But I mean if a team is that good, like an LSU or a USC, then they should be ready for anything.

Just my opinion
Division 1-AA ALREADY HAS a playoff format, just like Division 2 and 3. That is why Appalachian State's back to back Championships MEAN SOMETHING. Now if Division 1A finally does what the rest are doing and puts in a Playoff format it should be FOR DIVISION 1A. Maybe have the Division 1A Champ play the Division 1-AA Champ to crown a true Division 1 Champ at most. Yeah though we all know they should start a playoff system though.
Now your're get'n it.

Not every player in the NFL comes from those fancy shmancy teams.

There are many teams that could probably match up very well with the “big boys” but we’ll never know until PTB that rank the teams and set the schedules give them the opportunity to show them and us.

Yesterday’s game was not a fluke.

That game went down to the wire.

If Appalachian State was a scrub team, the score wouldn’t have been that close AND they had the lead a considerable amount ot the time..

The fact that they won it by blocking a FGA ; btw, the second of two shows that they take EVERY aspect of the game seriously.

FGs shouldn’t be an automatic 3 pts.

I think Appalachian State understands that.

Too bad many of the other lower tier teams don’t get the opportunity to show that.

Acollegefootball playoff would be nice but virtually impossible…too many teams.

However, at the beginning of the year, a lottery to include more of the lower tier teams into the schedules of ALL the conferences of the ‘big boys’ would be nice.
Yes, not only for 1-AA but for Michigan or any other team that may only lose 1 game, they should have a chance show they still are a top team in this countrey.
well yet another lower school has beaten a big time school. I think well maybe. I would really encourage a playoff system but App state doesnt even copmete for bowls like michigan does it is not a good way to get a football playoff when a lower school beats a d-1 school
The best case for a playoff was last season. Boise State deserved a chance at the title. There were at least 5 teams that could have won an 8 team tournament at the end of last season - Florida, Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Boise, Possibly Auburn or Oklahoma.
Games like that slowly strengthen the case for a playoff system. It also reminds you how important every single game is incollegefootball though. With the current bowl system, every regular season game could be considered a kind of playoff game. I still think it'd be cool to see a small 4 or 8(16 at the very most) team playoff at the end of the year. You don't want to ruin the great regular season by letting everyone into the playoffs.

Escapism. Football is just entertainment, it's provides something to be involved in and to belong to. No worse than all the millions that tune into soap operas every night.
madfootball disease . Its a spin-off of the madcow disease .
Their footballers are more talented than their politicians.
It is a religion.
Everyone is mad about football!

They couldn't wait till the Fifa World Cup come!!!
because they love football
Because it's taken over from religion in our thankfully, secular, society. We all like to belong to some tribe or other and football provides the bond that holds thousands of like-minded people together. Plus you get to see 22 young men running round in shorts - what more could a girl want?
Well you got that wrong because i HATE it with a passion! I'm so lucky, neither my dad, brother or fiancee like it either!
it's a tribal thing, we all have our own team, and it means we can go down the boozer, have a few pints watch the game and hurl abuse at eachother. it brings the country together better than politics, religion or anything else!

also it breaks down social, racial and religious barriers; it's about the game, not the colour of your skin or your background.

although we are tarnshed by hooliganism, but nowhere near the worst. i think that football brings a nation together, even my mum watches the world cup.

and it'll prove that the greatest country in the world is..................brazil?????
I don't know but it does my head in. Saying that, the rest of the world seems to be under the misapprehenshion that we're stuck up snobs, so the footie thing kinda levels it out.
Just like the Americans are mad about their football 鈥?and they call it football even though they hit it with foot once in entire game!
I detest football and don't understand the obsession at all!
what else have they got going for them heheheheh...just kidding.

The people where I live are crazy about the world cup too and there's not even a team from the country going there (I don't think anyway...I'm not into soccer).

Who's cuter...Beckham or Blair...Who's got more money...Gerrard or Straw? Who participated in the last invasion on Iraq?
because it is fun to play and refreshes you and every body
Britishers have always know to be colonisers and fighters . The once ruled the entire world and have fighting instincts . Football lets them bring out their roudyness and thus they love playing it.

Thats the reason its getting so popular with the Bush ruled USA.
Politics sucks. Football is the best thing ever more important than life. All politicians are liars the country is in a mess and the good hardworking people are suffering. Football is a way to forget normal life its brill.
Because playing football is funny, relaxing in comparing with politics, where it's very boring and stupid! I don't like football like the British do like it, but I love to watch good football games, when it's worth to watch them!!!
the best sport and game in the world
because they are bloody strange....
Probabley because WE invented it !!! (but then the Brazillians perfected it)

We invented Rugby as well, but the yanks go spoil it by putting on all that padding and helmets (poofs) and calling it 'American FootBall' ...............ITS RUGBY WITH PADDING MATE !!!
This is like asking why people like boobs.

Or chocolate.

Cause it rocks. Pfft.
Not all of us like football!
Why are americans so mad about american football?????
coz they invented it, besides they are not good at it, lol.
because we invented it maybe?
because they haven't seen the sun in their life.

What do I need for American Football?

I started playing football, and I never played it in highschool. I already learned my lesson that I need cleats and some good gloves because I was messing up so much on the first day of practice. I'm probably not even going to play the game against a rival college, but I want to improve enough so that if I do get to play, I won't make a fool of myself. (I could tell I was the runt when we played and practiced the drills, I was soooo unprepared) My entire body was sore after some basic drills. Our game is on the weekend before Thanksgiving. I need to practice and improve a lot before then.

What kind of excercises should I do? Where should I buy some cheap equipment? What kind of solo drills can I do? What can I do to bulk up? What foods do I need to start eating? (I'm a skinny guy, and I'm the least fit of ALL of the people that came out to practice) Any other tips and advice would also be appreciated. Thanks everyone!

thats awesome that you want to start playing football. Its a lot of fun.

Now I'm not sure if you're playing tackle football or flag or two hand touch. If your playing tackle football, you wont be able to play without some pads. Go to your local sport store and just buy some cheap ones there. Or, you can always get a pair of used ones. They might have them at Sports go Round, a store that sells used (but still good) equipment. Thats where i got my lacrosse stuff from.

Now, in order to get in shape, you should probably start with running. Id try to run at least a mile for about 3 times a week. If you can go more, do it. Try to add a little bit more each week. By November you should easily be able to run 2 or 3 miles.

Now im also not sure what position your playing, but its also good to lift some weights. Id start with upper body, like biceps and triceps, and then chest and stomach (benchpressing, situps)

remember, its never too late to start, and have fun

Ice %26amp; ibuprofen. Any vision problems, go see a doctor.
don't irritate it. you could have fracture sometime. i advise going to the doctor. it can also be a black eye or damaged blood vessels. the eye is very sensitive.
cold compresses and if you begin to lose vision see dr asap
dont poke it put a raw steak on it

and you will have a huge black eye for a week.
Put ice on it. If you are having vision problems, have it checked out by a doctor.
deal with it, i broke my arm okay?
You probably will have a black eye by tomorrow.

Good Luck.

Have a nice day!
stop poking it, likely you broke some vessles and its bleeding into the white of your eye, go to a doctor or just use cold packs on it until it improves. a couple of weeks.

Where can I find football camps for college students?

My nephew is 18 and graduating high school, and as a gift we wanted to send him to a football camp. The camps I've spoken with tell me that he won't be allowed to playcollegeball if he attends their camps - (some rule on preventing scouting.) He was very excited about going to a camp since he's never had such an opportunity. Any ideas?

Is there any other sports -apart from football- where several fans die because of the sports itself?

I've heard news of several football fans who died because of the beautiful game, but what about other sports? Do fans die because of other sports too? If yes, what kind of sports is that?

Is there any other sports -apart from football- where several fans die because of the sports itself?football

I guess you could find singular instances in many sports. I remember a horse jumping the barrier at a meet in Australia that killed a spectator. Race cars/ super bikes where spectators have been killed or injured from crash debris or vehicles crashing through guard rails etc. I'm sure there are many, we just don't hear about them all that often. Interesting question.

Which position should i play for highschool football?

I was wondering what position i should play for highschool football. Im about 150-160 lb 5'10-5'11. Im decent and throwing but barely, im not good at catching (if this can be improved please give me tips i would greatly appreciate it). I'm a good sprinter and good at long distance too. I'm fairly strong but i lack experience and skill.

Be a safety or corner, it is a lot of fun to smack guys. Offense is boring unless you are a widereceiver or running back, and it sounds like you wouldn't be a very affective widereceiver. I am sure you would be a great corner or safety.

Ask your coach. This is not brain surgery, but he knows the league your in better than a bunch of Yahoos.:)

Oh ignore the idiots who say "Left Bench" etc.
play hb
With out any experience it really leave you open for anything. Your size says LB/RB, but your lack of experience might say no to those positions. On the high school level your size also says good things for WR and DE. to catch better play catch with someone, but tape something like golf balls in the palms of your hands to practice catching with your fingers.
QB, they get the chicks
defenitly rb, but ask ur coach. he'll probably tell you to try out different positions. LB is a possibility or CB

one good thing for catching and carrying is always carry around a football, you get used to the feel and the best way to carry it. Play catch everyday or go practice on a JUG machine

What high school football position should i play?nba trades

Well first off you dont get to play the position you want to play all the time. The coach decides that for you. You should have a good idea of what position you will play from previous years. Your size here sounds like youd be a good defensive back. Havent seen you play so I cant say for sure. Peace out.........

What high school football position should i play?football ,nba teams

Wide Receiver, cornerback, safety, running back, and/or returner
Kicker or punter
CB/SS/OLB
Sounds like you like to tackle.. and being that you say you're fast and athletic.. I'd say cornerback or linebacker on defense. If you're playing both ways maybe you can try wide receiver if you have good hands. Good luck! Wish i could play again!
come on ya'll.. the kids 5'5, 115... if your fast enough... try returning punts and kicks and running the rock. If you can jump... give Widereciever or corner a shot...
halfback or defensive back. try to get some work in as a return man as well
outside linebacker
oline, linebacker or tightend
I'm thinking defensive end or outside linebacker.
any position the coach will let you start at...good luck
one of the safety spots but gain some muscle or ull be ridin the pine, depending on what grade u r in
probably defensive end, corner, safety, or linebacker

Where does Canadian Football rank in terms of interest and participation?

Of course Hockey is the #1 sport in Canada. What I'm interested in is Canadian Football the #2 sport and how does it rank to these other sports.

Basketball, Lacrosse, Soccer, Rugby, Baseball, and Curling.

Where does Canadian Football rank in terms of interest and participation?college football

It depends. Most of my friends and I love the CFL. We go to Argo and Ticat games regularly. But there a lots of people out there that have bought into the hype of the NFL. In all honesty I find the CFL way more entertaining. And it certainly ranks above curling, lacrosse, baseball, basketball and rugby. Soccer is on the rise here because many immigrants have brought their love of the game with them here.

Where does Canadian Football rank in terms of interest and participation?nba.com ,nba teams

low
It ranks second to the NHL in Canada but to be honest i think the NFL should take a greater interest in the CFL and look into bringing those teams to the NFL in the future but i think the CFL has room to grow in Canada by having a teams in Quebec City, St. John's, Victoria, Fredricton, Charlottetown, Dartmouth, or Halifax those are the most other populated and major cities in the commonwealth
Yes, actually I was reading about the Candian Football ranking yesterday on Wikipedia, and it said that CFL is ranked second behind only hockey in Canada.

Of those other you mentioned, I would class them in this order, based on popularity:

Basketball,

Lacrosse

Soccer

Baseball,

Curling

Rugby.

Il give you a link to wikipedia where you can find about the popluarity of the CFL.

*taken from Wikipedia*

Although ice hockey is Canada's most popular sport, the CFL is highly popular in Quebec and Western Canada, and along with Canadian football played at amateur levels (ie. youth, high school, CJFL, QJFL, CIS and senior leagues such as the Alberta Football League), has increased in popularity in recent years. In Southern Ontario, the CFL is recovering from the bankruptcy that plagued the Toronto and Hamilton teams in the 2003 season; having come under new ownership, both teams have improved their attendance figures dramatically since then. The BC Lions have also seen a recent resurgence of fan support, which many attribute to improved on-field and off-field management. The Lions now compete with the Edmonton Eskimos for top attendance numbers; the Eskimos average as many as 40,000 people per game (Vancouver's BC Place Stadium, Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium, and Toronto's Rogers Centre are the only stadiums that seat 40,000+). Saskatchewan Roughriders fans are known for their loyalty and for attending Roughriders games at stadiums across the country.

In 2005, the league set an all-time attendance record with a total attendance of more than 2.3 million.[8] With the absence of Ottawa in 2006, the league recorded total regular season attendance of 2,112,696, increasing the average per-game attendance to 29,343. This is the third highest per-game attendance of any North American sports league and the sixth highest per-game attendance of any sports league worldwide. A recent survey conducted at the University of Lethbridge confirmed that the CFL is the second most popular sports league in Canada, with the following of 19% of the total adult Canadian population compared to 30% for the NHL. The NFL had 13% following, with a total of 24% following at least one of the pro football leagues. This could be interpreted to mean that approximately 80% of Canadian football fans follow the CFL and about 55% follow the NFL.[2]
I think it depends on the market. Maybe Ontario has basketball or baseball as the #2 choice but out west I think the CFL is #2. The CFL game is FAR more entertaining than the NFL game.
bottom of the food chain
As far as a spectator sport, it'd be #1 based on average attendance in the stadiums but TV ratings are really the barometer and the CFL would rank #3 behind the NHL and NFL in Canada.

As far as the others and TV coverage--lacrosse is nowhere as all we get is the odd Toronto Rock NLL game and almost no senior A or junior lacrosse (bar the Minto Cup Final on in about 40 mins this Sat.) and rugby in Canada gets zero coverage as it's just not popular at all. To get the World Cup it's on Sentata Sports and you need to have a dish or digital to get that.
below hockey

below curling

below lacrosse

then comes cfl football.

above boreball

borketball

soqqer
I'd say second. First for me, but second overall. The Grey Cup always gets the highest ratings TV wise, even higher than the Stanley Cup. However it is a one game affair and the cup can be a 7 game time investment.
Go Stampede!!!

Can i make it on a highschool football team?

hi, im 5 feet and 4 inches, i weigh about 135 pounds, and im at a regular speed, i cant beat my track friends. I can throw pretty well, i can also catch pretty well..Will i ever make it in highschool football? And what would a good postition to try out for?

Can i make it on a highschool football team?sports

There's little guys that make it in high school football. I remember a lot of undersized guys had to endure the experience as a tackling dummy for a couple of years, but after guys dropped off, they stuck around to START their Junior and Senior year. Size doesn't matter in high school football nearly as much as it does at other levels. As far as your position, ask your coach what position gives you the best chance of getting on the field.

Can i make it on a highschool football team?sporting goods ,nba teams

5 4? uh maybe kicker.....
If you can break tackles, try out for runningback. Some runningbacks aren't very fast but avoid tackles well. Work on your stiff arm and moves.
i would ask the coach.work on your speed,go to the weightroom. try to make the special teams. dont let your size keep you from trying. work extra hard in practice. and earn you a spot. remember hard work pays off.
how old r u? from the looks of ur avatar it looks like you should be a pretty boy Harvard graduate sitting down drinking some latte son. sit down waterboiiiiiiiiiii!
Well if you have to ask a bunch of strangers, I'd say no. Only you know yourself. There is always band.
I would work on foot speed and training for a running back
depends what grade your in... you can't expect to play varsity at that size, especially if you've never played before. if you want to get on the field, get good at special teams positions, and maybe try cornerback?
It depends how big your high school is

if it's large doubtfully

but if it isn't too large u've got a chance my friend

u should try safety
Well if your only 5 feet and 4 inches you shouldn't be quarterback because they wouldn't allow you in the pro's. I would say wide reciever!
...im so damn tired of seeing these questions...you can do anything if you put the effort forward and to be completely honest you're gonna play wherever the hell your coach puts you.
wide reciever. dont expect to play until your an upperclassmen though. you sound like you would be ok. just try your hardest and give it all u got coaches like that. hustke. good luck.
It depends on your high school.

If it's a big school with a great team like mine...no. =\
depends on who you play for and what type of guys they got.

at some small high school you could probably play cornerback or running back, depending on how tough you are

(im tall but i got short friends who can own me in football)

if you'r going to hoover or john curtis, stop dreaming
u will get trampeld buy every one you way to short
wide receiver or defensive back. Sounds like you might be a special teams guy.
gain muscle weight, keep your speed up and try out for wide receiver

Does anyone have any great ideas for a Packer/Bear football party?

bear kabobs, bear bbq, bear steak, bear burgers, bear meatballs.

basically anything that those meat Packers can kill and cut up for you. lol

can you who I will be cheering for?.

Seriously though. some of my best football parties involved:

buffalo chicken pizza,

taco bars

chili bars (with baked potatoes too)

giant sub sandwiches.

nothing wrong with good ole beer boiled grilled brats.

or turn the brats into a pizza, yum (better than sausage)

or you could do mini pizzas that everyone builds themselves.

cookies, always cookies. They are a portable dessert

Does anyone have any great ideas for a Packer/Bear football party?ncaa ,nba teams

Cheese and brats and deep dish Chicago pizza, beer and soda pop.
I would do finger foods such as sandwhiches and try baked beans and little smokies they are a good side dish, but something easy so that you and family can enjoy yourselfs as well.
My son loves the Chocolate Football cake....Hershey's Perfectly chocolate cake and frosting, shaped in a foot ball. I use Reddi Whip and the chocolate teddy grahams for accents (the lacing) because the teddy grahams look like little cheerleaders (arms up/down). Wilton makes a cool football cake mold, I got it at a thrift store for 50 cents. Packers would mean LOTS of cheese, so use mini-cookie cutters for some fun.

I also invested in a slow cooker - 3 qt with a "football" theme, for extra dips, appetizers etc. You can pick these up cheap (mine was $5 on clearance) at thrift stores or whatever. This way you have a nice serving place for meatballs, chicken wings, hot dip, chili, etc and save time in the kitchen!
Let everyone make their own BIG sandwiches. Put every thing on the table buffet style and let them dig in.

Here are some extra for the table, click this like:

http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/et_pa_fo...
The best football party dish I have found is:

Take kibasa sausage and cut into 1 inch thick pieces, Wrap each piece with half a strip of uncooked bacon and secure with a toothpick. Prepare a homemade BBQ sauce or buy some ready made. Place sausage and bacon pieces in a glass baking dish and cover with the sauce. Bake uncovered for 45 min at 400 degrees.

These will go quick!

Italy?
internet???
Try looking it up on the internet with the local clubs that play in Italy. Inter Milan is one..or Palermo..
Well you can start watching the Italian Serie A which should start in around 6 weeks. The Internet is also a formidable suggestion... You can also take a trip to Italy...
Well get GolTv. to watch the Italian Serie A. Althou Juventus, Milan and Fiorentina are gonna get Punished becouse of the Scandal. :(
If you have cable look at the mexican sports channel. Once the world cup was over they were showing older games of Juventus and Inter playing.
